How much are old ThunderCats toys worth?
Because LJN only made ThunderCats for a couple of years, there's simply less of it about than He-Man or Star Wars, and that scarcity underpins the value. The serious money chases the big pieces: the Tongue-A-Saurus monster, a working Cats Lair and carded, unopened figures sit at the top of the range, with Mumm-Ra's Tomb Fortress and a boxed Thundertank not far behind.
On figures, collectors care about the details: whether the Battle-Matic lever still swings the arm, whether the light-up eyes still glow, and whether the little accessories (swords, shields, the Sword of Omens itself) survived the toy box. Later characters such as Jaga, Pumyra, Bengali and Lynx-O were made in smaller numbers and fetch strong prices even loose.
Incomplete doesn't mean worthless here either. A Driller with no legs or an Astral Moat Monster missing its wings still sells for more than many complete figures from other ranges, and mixed job lots do well as a whole. The Battle-Matic lever or light-up eyes don't work any more. Still worth selling?
Yes. Tired mechanisms and dim eyes are completely normal on forty-year-old figures, and they don't stop me buying. Working features add a little; broken ones don't rule anything out.
My figures have no weapons or accessories. Is that a problem?
No. Loose figures without their swords and shields are the most common way ThunderCats survive, and I buy them all the time. If a bag of loose weapons turns up in the same box, even better: include it in the photos.
